Dignitary/Executive Protection Specialist Course

CATALOG DESCRIPTION
The 60 hour Dignitary/Executive Protection Course is the first module in a series of courses designed to prepare individuals for a career in the protection industry. This program is a blend of classroom and hands on instruction. The course culminates in a field training exercise where students will conduct a protective operation and be graded on their ability to appropriately mitigate risk and adapt to dynamic situations. Students will practice  motorcade operations in a slow and methodical operation to ensure safety and complete understanding of vehicle positioning for maximum defense of protectee. Students will also use marking cartridges during force on force encounters to provide stress inoculation to critical incidents and better prepare them for worst case scenarios.

We at Executive Solutions Worldwide (ESW)  feel it is extremely important for everyone be trained on how to handle a critical incident as they are likely the first line of defense between an armed threat and unarmed innocent people and/or loved one.  It’s important to know that active shooter tragedies last between 4-11 minutes and most people who are carrying out these heinous acts look for soft targets where they will have very little or no resistance. Historically, half of the Active Shooter tragedies in the US have been stopped by civilians.

Using extensive law enforcement, military response training, and independent research into the past active shooter events as a model, ESW has developed this course to provide you, the Central Florida community with a basic fundamental skill set that will enable you to act in the event of an active shooter and potentially stop the threat. In a critical incident and when seconds feel like hours, we don’t rise to the occasion, we fall to our highest level of training!

Course Description: Critical Incident Response for Civilians

Overview: This course is a four hour long introduction into civilian response to critical incidents including active shooters. Students will receive instruction on what to do to mitigate risk during a critical incident and how to respond as an unarmed civilian. Students will experience stress inoculation to better prepare them mentally to deal with an active shooter incident.

This is not a shooting course.  Students will learn about how firearms work so that they can effectively render them inoperable during scenarios.

Students should wear comfortable clothes as they will engage in physical drills with roll players. Students should bring water to drink.

Some of the World’s largest and most successful companies spend millions of dollars annually to secure their CEO’s. Amazon spent $1.6 million to secure CEO Jeff Bezos (according to an SEC Filing). Obviously, the report does not disclose exactly what security services or assets were procured. Surely, the company sees fit to secure one of its most valuable assets at home and while traveling. When you hire a security company, you are putting an enormous amount of trust in them. This needs to be a company whose hands you would quite literally be willing to put your life into. That’s no small thing.

Unfortunately, there have been numerous cases of so-called “trustworthy” security companies that have proven themselves incapable of the job.
